I'm so excited to have another guest blogger today! Priti contacted me a few weeks ago about guest blogging - she loves to write about fashion, especially wedding fashion, which is super relevant for me since my sister is getting married next June and will be looking for dresses soon! Enjoy!
Hey everyone, my name is Priti and I am so excited to be guest posting on Heather’s gorgeous site! I love fashion and writing and combining the two. Fashion is something that is always evolving and it can be hard to keep up with the latest styles. This also applies to wedding fashion. Whether you’re getting married soon or know someone else who is, I hope my post on the latest trends in wedding dresses is a helpful guide, enjoy!

Picking out a wedding dress is arguably the most
important clothing based decision a woman makes. It can be hard, though, for a
bride to pick a dress that will not only be on trend and flattering, but will also
stand the test of time. And if any of
you are like me, you have haunting prom photos wearing a ridiculous dress and
would really like to avoid that! However, that doesn’t mean you have to play it
safe. Take a look at some of the trends
for the upcoming wedding season that are not only super stylish, but will truly
remain classic looks.
One of the big trends for wedding dresses this season is
vintage gowns. Whether you go for lace
or an old Hollywood glamour look, vintage style dresses are beautiful and
timeless. This dress from the White by Vera Wang collection at David’s Bridal is a great
example of combining modern and vintage.
The illusion lace look has been very popular since Princess Kate Middleton
chose a similar style and is both classy and elegant.
Another big trend for wedding dresses is to wear a short
dress. Short dresses have a fun feel and look both flirty and young. They’re a
great option for brides who want to reflect their chic personalities and stand out.
A more elegant option for brides interested
in a different look but who do not want to go as short is a tea-length style. Tea-length
dresses hit at about mid-calf and are stylish but more understated. Shorter dresses are also a big trend for
brides who want to change into a second look for the reception. They’re usually lighter and less constricting
so you can comfortably dance the night away!
One of my favorite trends this season is the colored wedding
dress. I’ve seen collections that have
extreme colors from red to blue to black but those are likely a little too
non-traditional for the typical bride.
The more subtle shades that are big this season are blush, champagne,
and platinum. You may recall that Reese
Witherspoon got married in a beautiful blush pink dress. Next to white, pink is a great color for a
wedding dress, it represents romance and what more romantic day than your
wedding day?
Regardless of which dress a bride chooses for her special
day, she can't go wrong by choosing a style that represents her personality,
whether it is a simple, long white dress, or a sassy short one.
What do you think of the latest trends? Can you imagine yourself walking down the
aisle in one of these latest looks or do you prefer the traditional?
