Happy Valentine's Day!

It's almost Valentine's Day and what kind of blogger would I be if I didn't make some sort of sweet treat for the occasion?! A bad one. That's what. So, despite the fact I am not a baker, at all, I whipped up these Valentine colored M&M blondies late last night.

So, after you're done buying a lovely Valentine's Day gift for yourself, make these for your Valentine, or for your President's Day weekend travel buddies, or your coworkers, or just to binge eat yourself. No judgement.

M&M Valentine Blondies

1/2 cup butter, softened
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups M&M's

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9x13 baking dish. Beat brown sugar and butter until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla and continue to beat. Slowly mix in flour and baking powder. Stir in 1 cup M&M's.
Spread batter into dish and top with remaining M&M's. Bake 25 minutes or until top is golden brown and blondies have started to pull away from the sides. Let cool, cut, and enjoy!

I do have one question for you bakers out there—how do I prevent the M&M's from cracking? I see all these beautiful pictures of blondies with M&M's that aren't cracked, but mine are a mess! Am I just falling victim to comparing myself to impossibly unattainable perfect Pinterest pictures?
