Taking Care of Your Skin: Always Use Eye Cream

I've been a bit of a skin care but for several years now. I have fair skin, I freckle, and I absolutely want to ward off wrinkles for as long as I can. Needless to say, my skincare regimen is extensive and I'm always on the lookout for new and innovative products. So, in the new year, I'm going to start this Taking Care of Your Skin series highlighting some of the best products I find. First up this week is the VIIcode T2 Oxygen Eye Cream.

WHY YOU SHOULD USE AN EYE CREAM

Are you already using an eye cream? If so, great! If not, no, your lotion that you put on your face every day does not count. Because of thinner, fragile skin in the eye area, your eyes will be one of the first places on your face to start age. Fine lines and dry patches are two of the issues that seem to crop up and an eye cream with a lightweight consistency but extra hydration is just the answer.

WHY VIICODE T2 OXYGEN EYE CREAM

With ingredients that include elderberries, jojoba oil, and evening primose, the VIIcode T2 oxygen eye cream is formulated to combat aging and fine lines. A consistency that's super moisturizing yet absorbs quickly and doesn't leave any greasy feeling is ideal for your eyes and this oxygen eye cream is perfect for using every morning before you put on your face moisturizer and makeup. It's a little morning pick me up that leaves your eyes feeling bright, hydrated, and awake. The antioxidants in the ingredients helps regenerate skin cells and create a younger, glowing appearance with continued use.

HOW TO USE AN EYE CREAM

Because the skin around your eyes is so delicate, you have to use a gently touch when applying eye cream. Use a pea sized amount, morning and additionally evening if you'd like, and dab it around your eyes using your ring finger because it's not as strong as your index or middle finger and won't pull on the skin (do as I say not as I do...this is a step I always have trouble remembering, see these pictures as evidence). I apply eye cream after my face oil and serum but before moisturizer and sunscreen.

A FINAL NOTE

If you want to see results, use your eye cream every.single.day. Sure, there are nights I just want to crawl in bed without going through my evening skincare routine, and some days I want to bolt out of the house with a few swipes of sunscreen. But, that's not the way to make a difference in the condition and look of your skin. Take the extra five minutes and take care of yourself and your skin.
