I’ve been meaning to share this DIY project for ages and here it finally is. I’ve had a nightstand that’s been sitting in the basement forever. It was black, then white, and, as of earlier this summer, was water-stained, covered in dust and dirt, and living in the basement (I wish I had a before picture!). When my roommate moved out and took a cute red table with her, we needed something to replace it. My mind immediately went to this table which was roughly the same size as the previous red one.
After deliberating over a few different color choices (fresh, glossy white, turquoise, gold), I finally settled on silver. I sanded the table (oh, how I hate sanding!) as best I could, then followed it up with 2 coats of silver acrylic craft paint to set a base coat. On top of the base coat went two layers of silver spray paint and then I finished it with a clear coat on top.
I searched high and low and finally found inexpensive acrylic pulls at Ikea (seriously inexpensive. Like $1.99 for 6 inexpensive.) I screwed them on as the finishing touch and ta-da! Fabulous new silver accent table!
