Color of the Year: Emerald

As I’m sure you all know by now, Emerald is the Pantone Color of the Year. I’ve always thought of myself as someone who can’t really wear green, but I’m trying to jump on the bandwagon.

So here’s my attempt at an emerald influenced outfit. Of course the emerald top is the star, but the black bow flats are just precious. I love the high neckline of the coat (no scarf needed!) and the figure defining tie at the waist. The color block skirt is such a fun yet practical piece that would add a bit of style to every solid colored blouse in your wardrobe. I adore the emerald necklace. It’s the perfect dress it up, dress it down piece. And how sophisticated is the tiny black clutch?

Both the coat and skirt are final sale with extra 30% off at J.Crew so they’re great prices, but I would get them now before they sell out as final sale often does.

Also, the flats are from JC Penney. They’re truly stepping up their game.

PS Sorry this set is such a mess, almost every item I wanted to use had a grey background I couldn’t get rid of!

Also on the emerald trend, I’m obsessed with this blackwatch wool bag

Isn't it cute? I saw someone wearing it yesterday and just knew it had to be in my Friday Fancies outfit.
