My two book clubs seem to have coordinated a theme this month. Not quite self-help, but enlightening nonetheless, these books are both required reading for professional women. I literally read The Defining Decade in 3 days. It’s that good. While The Defining Decade makes a strong case for starting your life/career in your 20’s and not buying into the mentality that it’s fine to wait until you are 30 to get your life together, it doesn’t make you feel depressed or as if you’re lagging behind. Rather, it’s an empowering reminder that you can make an impact at a younger age. We’ve certainly all read about Lean In over the past several months and it’s definitely a must read for all working women. I haven’t finished it yet, but I am looking forward to a book club discussion over brunch about this sometimes controversial read.
On a totally different note, I have yet to bite the bullet on a Chambray shirt but with summer here it might be time. I love this light chambray popover from J.Crew Factory (and it’s an extra 30% off right now).
