Today I have a slightly belated recap of my turn hosting Book Club last week. For a Valentine themed table, I put together a super simple spread that covered all the food groups necessary at any good book club: cheese, carbs, and chocolate.
I needed something that I could pull together in just a few minutes after work so I picked recipes that could be prepared ahead of time and paired them with jars of pink and red candy (how on earth I had these jars in my apartment for a week ahead of Book Club without eating them all is beyond me!) I made an amazing Bacon Cheese Quick Bread that was paired with grape jelly and a delicious and addicting cheese spread that I made by doctoring up a pub cheese with Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and a little chili powder.
With a few festive touches such as pink ribbon and pink trays, I ended up with a simple yet thought out Book Club spread perfect for a February celebration.
