Following up to my post earlier this week on my new eyeshadow primer staple, this eye shadow palette has quickly become my all time favorite. Conventional makeup knowledge has always had me steering clear of matte shadows, but day in and day out shimmer feels like a bit too much. Urban Decay’s Naked Basics palette of matte neutrals is the perfect way to create a super natural everyday look, but it can just as easily create a sultry smoky eye.
For everyday wear, I’ve been using the lighter colors (Foxy and Walk of Shame) over my entire lid with just a bit of Naked 2 in the crease and Fawn on the corners. Crave, the darkest color, is perfect for lightly lining my bottom lid. If I’m going out in the evening, I’ll do basically the same eye but kick it up with a heavier hand on the Naked 2 and Fawn, as well as Crave accenting the crease on the outside half of my eye and Venus (the only one with a bit of shimmer in the palette) on the inner half of my eyelid. It’s a glamorous yet understated look that makes this palette absolutely worth a tiny splurge.
