I was talking to a friend the other day and it came up that
she rarely wears perfume, which she attributed to the fact that her mother never
wore perfume when she was growing up. I got to thinking and I don’t know that
my mother even owns perfume, so I’m not sure where my obsession came from. But it
certainly is an obsession and since it’s time to let my winter fragrance go, I decided
it was time to track down a scent that I fell in love with last year when I
received a sample in my Birchbox.
Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine is a bit of an unusual pick
for a girly girl that typically looks for anything with gardenia, rose, or otherwise floral
notes, but this perfume has a refreshing slightly sweet scent that is perfect for casual
warm days. It’s the kind of perfume you’d spritz when you’re about to throw on a pair of worn jeans, a navy and white striped shirt, and boat and tote bag before hitting the farmer’s market. That’s the kind of not too feminine, clean, casual air it has about it. Of course, since it had been a year since I finished my Birchbox sample, I only picked up the travel spray size, but I have a feeling I’ll be going back soon for a bigger bottle.
