Beachside Essentials

With a beach vacay in Montauk starting in roughly 26 hours, I decided to round up a few of my beachside essentials (this should help inform my packing list, right?!) This will be my first time headed to a beach up north so I’m thinking I may have to adjust my normal beachwear to include a few more sweatshirts and few less sundresses, but I’ll figure it out as I go, and when in doubt, over pack, always.

I finally got a new L.L. Bean Boat and Tote this summer (mine was so old!) and I have been using it constantly, even in the city, but it’s a staple at the beach. A seersucker bikini is always a classic, and no straps, please. This neon cover up is sold out in pink online, but you can still get it in the slightly safer navy

I am a bit obsessive when it comes to sunscreen. I freckle if I’m out in the sun for just a few minutes and start burning shortly thereafter. This spray makes it easy to constantly reapply without having to worry about making sure I don’t look pasty white from all the SPF. On my face, it’s always 70 or above, and I finally realized this summer that an SPF lip balm is a must. This Sugar Lip Treatment from fresh also adds a bit of color.
