I know many of my friends have been using Revlon’s Just Bitten Balm Stains and Matte Balm for years now, but I just jumped on the bandwagon in the past week. I may have been a late adopter, but now it won’t be long before I have every single color in my makeup bag. They were on sale when I bought them, so I walked out with a hot pink, coral, and a neutral pink. A girl has to have options!
So, you may be wondering what’s the reason for all the fuss over these balm stains? Well, these chubby crayon sticks have a gel formula that is both moisturizing AND long lasting. A rare, and amazing, combination.
I layered mine over a transparent lip liner and then applied my favorite clear plumping lip gloss on top. While I’m sure you could go without the liner and the gloss, I like using the liner to ensure that the color stays exactly where it’s supposed to and I can never go without my trusty plumping gloss. The transparent lip liner is also just a great product to have on hand because you can use it under any lip color. It’s super easy to apply and you truly can’t make a mistake with it.
The three colors that I tried are Elusive Matte Balm, Striking Matte Balm, and Sweetheart Balm Stain. Elusive is a pretty medium pink that is perfect for any occasion. Striking is a bright, coral red that made me realize orange tinted reds are what I should have been wearing all along, and Sweetheart is a bright pink that is definitely attention grabbing and perfect for a steamy summer evening.
