Lucy Activewear

It’s safe to say I’m obsessed with workout wear. I try to fit in a class almost every day, and since I have had the opportunity to try out ClassPass this past month, I’ve been checking out pretty much every studio in DC. This means I’m always running to or from a yoga, pilates, or barre class, and I need workout wear that is functional yet also looks stylish for running errands or grabbing brunch.

When lucy contacted me last month about some of the new styles that they have in their collection, I jumped at the chance to try out a few of their pieces. I snapped a few shots from my sister’s rooftop while I was in NYC this past weekend (I had taken off my makeup right before realizing the lighting was perfect for taking pictures, so you’re getting the true picture of me working out!)

Flexibility LeggingFeel the Beat Tank

Both the Flexibility Leggings and the Feel the Beat Tank have a dance influenced look, which I absolutely love. The Flexibility Leggings have a contrasting ribbed legwarmer built in that extends above the knee, in addition to a substantial stirrup at the foot. I usually run into workout pants being far too long, but these actually fit perfectly. They are snug and flattering with a thick waistband that even has an internal pocket.

The Feel the Beat Tank is a long tunic length with a shirttail style hem. It’s not skin tight, but allows just enough room to have some movement, while not flipping up in downward dog. The back features an XY detail that is reminiscent of a leotard and the shelf bra is slightly padded and would allow women of any size to go without an additional sports bra.

Both the leggings and the tank are made of a moisture wicking fabric that dries quickly and is ideal for a tough workout. lucy also sent me Power Training Headband, which has grips on the inside that ensure it stays in place and doesn’t slide around. This was perfect for me, especially since I recently had layers cut into my hair (along with cutting off about 4 inches!) and they just refuse to stay back in a ponytail.
