Now for Part 2 of my Drugstore Favorites. Part 1 gave you a peek into my favorite lotions, cleansers, and other basics, and up this week are my budget friendly makeup go-to’s. I’m all about high-low in my makeup routine, so where I may use a Laura Mercier powder or a Clarins eyeshadow, I’ll supplement it with a drugstore concealer or blush.
The products below start with a classic – Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser. There’s no makeup that this cleanser and a tissue can’t remove, but of course I follow it up with my normal cleanser. The TruBlend FixStick and Neutrogena Shine Control Powder are perfect for making sure you have a neutral base for the rest of your makeup.
e.l.f.’s Eyebrow Kit is as good as any you’ll pay much, much more for and I love that it has a gel with a powder to set it. The eyeshadow palette below is wonderful for creating a subtly smoky eye that is richer than your normal black or brown. It’s just a touch of purple that doesn’t necessarily read as a color when it’s on, and it’s perfect for brown eyed girls. Most days I would top that with Benefit mascara, but if I’m in a pinch and need to pick up a mascara at the drugstore, I always reach for ScandalEyes.
I love to use a blush stick layered with a powder to give it staying power and the girly pink of these two is ideal for everyday wear. Both of these lip glosses are gorgeous peach colors that give a warm touch of color and of course I had to feature my absolute favorite top coat of all time and my go to neutral nail polish this fall.
Anyone else have a drugstore makeup favorite that I should try out? As always, you can shop the products online below if you don’t want to find them in store, and stay tuned because next week I’ll have the last part of my drugstore favorites series for you: skincare products.
