Sometimes when you’re looking to spruce up your fall wardrobe with weekend basics that have that timeless weekend away in a small town feel, it’s worth checking out places like Lands’ End. Instead of just immediately recycling the catalog I received in the mail yesterday, I decided to quickly flip through and was pleasantly surprised to see page after page of adorable fall looks. While you’re not going to start buying your professional clothes here, it’s perfect for cozy knits, autumnal plaids, and transitional jackets.
I am a huge fan of this cotton turtleneck that comes in both an anchor print and a plaid. It’s perfect for layering throughout fall and winter and though the style just slightly resembles something I recall my mom wearing in the early 90’s, I love the way they’re shown below with bright cords or a dark field jacket. Chunky fisherman sweaters are all the rage this season and Lands’ End nailed it by layering theirs over a chambray shirt and then completing the look with plaid cropped pants and a bright suede loafer. Last but not least, the quilted jacket, striped shirt, and colored cords are a classic fall look for any daytime excursion.
