A few weekends ago, a friend and I decided to brave a forecast of thunderstorms and head up to Annapolis for a day out on the water. Luckily, the weather held out and it ended up being a gorgeous day with a slight breeze and only a passing ominous cloud.
It should come as no surprise that I decided to dress for the occasion in nautical stripes and white. I picked up this striped shirt (as if I didn’t have enough already!) at the J.Crew Factory store and justified its addition to my wardrobe through its woven navy back… that back totally differentiates it from my other navy and white stripes. I paired the top with white jeans, a baseball hat I think I snagged from someone years ago – pretty sure I didn’t go to the U.S.Open in 2011, and my trusty gold knot earrings for a subtly nautical and sporty look.
We ended the day with a seafood feast at Cantler’s Riverside Inn after which I promptly swore off over-indulging until after swimsuit season. Then I went to Baltimore this past weekend and fell off the wagon when I visited Mama’s on the Half Shell for the first time.
These pictures make me a little sad because I love the option of braiding my long hair and getting it off my face easily, but this past week I decided it had become too much of a pain to style and I chopped it off into a lob. It’s definitely perkier but I’m going to miss that braid… (I booked my appointment through PrettyQuick which I started using a few months ago and love!)
