Pinterest Recipe of the Week: Dark Chocolate Almond Overnight Oats

I’m absolutely a morning person, but that does not mean I actually have time make breakfast. Once I get home from working out, I only have about an hour to check any blog related emails, shower, dry my hair (one of the only things I don’t like about my shorter hair – a damp bun or french braid is no longer an option) and get out the door. This leaves little time to do much beyond make a to go tumbler of iced coffee or a fruit smoothie, so I have been itching to try overnight oats for quite a while.

At first, the idea of cold oats admittedly sounded terrible, however, when I spotted a recipe for overnight oats that involved chocolate, I thought this is an idea I warm up to (ha). So armed with Nature Valley Muesli, which already has pumpkin seeds, cranberries, and oats in it, to make my overnight oats even easier, I decided to try my own version of the recipe I had pinned.

Dark Chocolate Almond Overnight Oats

3/4 cup Nature Valley Muesli
3/4 cup Vanilla Almond Milk
1 tbsp raw honey
1 tbsp chia seeds
1/4 cup chopped dark chocolate
1 tbsp slivered almonds

Mix together all ingredients in an airtight container, preferably in a mason jar since that seems to be the way all the food bloggers are doing it, and let sit in fridge overnight. Ingredients and flavors will meld together. Serve cold. Enjoy!
