I posted this Instagram last week of a delicious dark chocolate oatmeal that I made one morning when I happened to get up just a bit earlier than usual. Since then, I’ve made this recipe no less than four times. I’m addicted. I based it off of a recipe I found for Dark Chocolate Oatmeal from the blog A Pastry Affair and adjusted it a bit with almond milk and agave nectar.
Dark Chocolate Oatmeal
makes 2 servings
Oatmeal:
3/4 cup oats
1 1/4 cup almond milk
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1/2 tablespoon agave nectar
2 tablespoons dark chocolate chips
Topping:
1/2 banana sliced
1 tablespoon sliced almonds
1 teaspoon semi-sweet chocolate
Combine oats, almond milk, cocoa powder, and agave nectar in saucepan. Bring to a boil over a medium high heat, stirring frequently. Lower heat and let cook for a few more minutes, until almond milk and oats have softened together. Stir in chocolate chips until melted. Top with banana, almonds, and chocolate. Enjoy!
Curious about the items in the images above? I’m obsessed with my bamboo flatware, and it’s been going strong for four years now, the bowls are similar to these simple white bowls, and the turquoise napkin is from Wayfair.
This looks amazing! I wish my morning started with this tasty treat!
