By now you’ve certainly read a mention or two to the grad school program that’s keeping me so busy these days—I’m doing an e-learning Masters through SCAD. It’s been a ton more work than I thought it would be, but it’s certainly pushing me to learn more than I could have done on my own.
My most recent project was an 18 page magazine on a topic of my choosing. I decided to create a magazine that features creatives, specifically retail entrepreneurs, throughout the District. We have so many inspiring people making so many awesome products in this town and we deserve more credit than simply being a boring and beige government center!
One of the local creative business that I featured was Salt & Sundry. I had never been in their 14th floor storefront before heading over there to photograph it for my article and I was immediately obsessed with everything in there from delicious smelling candles to craft cocktail mixes. I wanted literally every item in the store and I actually ended up buying two hostess gifts and a baby shower gift on the spot. Here are a few pictures I took of this gorgeous shop:
