Spring is Just Around the Corner

Well, it’s March 23, it’s officially spring, and it snowed several inches yesterday. I actually love winter, but once it gets to be the end of March, I’m starting to get antsy to put away my winter sweaters and pull out some light and airy spring pieces. I mean who wants to be wearing fair isle in April?

Luckily, this spring look transitions perfectly from winter to spring. I don’t feel underdressed for a cool day, but I also am not weighed down by heavy fabrics while I’m enjoying sunshine until 7 PM.

Plus, there’s nothing like a light shade of pink to get you ready for spring, right?

FALLING IN LOVE WITH TROLLBEADS

There’s nothing better than a few pretty new shiny baubles to get your wardrobe feeling fresh for a new season, and I’m absolutely loving Trollbeads’ new Falling in Love collection and was so delightfully surprised when they reached out about their new collection. I had heard of Trollbeads, but had never actually given it much attention.

However, when I started looking through their latest collection, the Falling in Love collection, I couldn’t get enough of the simple silver bangles and the gorgeous freshwater pearl beads. I love that you can find an array of semi-previous gemstones to create a monochromatic stacked look or throw in a few of your favorite colors for something a bit more fun. I’m wearing the pearl bangle and the twisted bangle with a pink pearl below, both with plain sterling silver spacers. I’ve even been wearing both of the bangles on their own when I’m just running errands and want something shiny, but also want to keep it super casual. Then, I add the pearls and spacers for a pretty, feminine, stacked look like below.

IT MAY NOT FEEL LIKE SPRING, BUT MY MAKEUP SAYS IT IS

I also couldn’t wait to pull out some spring colors for my makeup. I received this Clarins 4-color eyeshadow palette a couple months ago, and the colors just screamed spring. I love brightening up my eyes with pinks and purples – they’re so feminine and flattering – and completing the look with a black volumizing mascara. A base of tinted SPF moisturizer, also from Clarins, mixed with a bit of Clarins’ SOS primer gives my skin a glowy, dewy look, perfect for spring.  Then, I top it all off with a bit of brightly colored lip balm for a minimal, but pretty, spring look.

YOU KNOW I LOVE A GOOD VINTAGE FIND

Curious about this cardigan that has a kind of cool grandma chic vibe? I actually came across it while shopping in Austin earlier this month at Charm School Vintage – a shop where I could have gone home with a whole lot more had I had more room in my suitcase! It’s actually St. John (and it was a song at $36!), so it’s definitely got some 80’s vibes, which I love.

Vintage shopping is probably my favorite type of shopping to do while I’m traveling. You never know what you’re going to find or what’s going to be popular in a certain area. Austin is definitely one of the best markets for vintage and I’ve been thrilled with every vintage purchase I’ve made there. From a vintage Coach purse to a white blazer with feather cuffs, you can’t beat the eclectic taste of that city

This post was sponsored by Trollbeads for the launch of their new Falling in Love collection! I’ve been wearing that twisted bangle all around town, so you know all opinions are my own! Thank you to the brands that make this website possible!
