Our Newlywed Holiday Cards: Hello 2019!

You only get one year to send out newlywed holiday cards with your wedding photos and, if you have a December wedding, that’s a quick turnaround to hope your professional photos come in with time to order cards. Thankfully, our photographer edited our pictures quickly and we were able to place a card order just in time to get them out for New Year’s (or a few days after…).

OUR NEWLYWED HOLIDAY CARDS

For our newlywed holiday cards, I chose a photo from our First Look that I not only loved, but that I thought would look classic and elegant on a holiday card. We went with a simple New Year’s message – “hello 2019” – in gold foil. Easy, festive, and suited for a newlywed holiday card.

We went with a card design from Artifact Uprising. They have a gorgeous selection of minimalist, but festive, designs with subtle metallic foil detail and I thought they were perfectly fitting for the look we wanted.

A NEW YEAR’S MESSAGE

While last year I wrote notes on many of our holiday cards, this year, inspired by another friend’s clever card, I decided to take advantage of the blank space on the back with a New Year’s message. I didn’t get creative, but I did sum up our 2018 with this note.

Cheers to an unforgettable 2018 and an exciting 2019 ahead!

This past year took us on a road trip through Ireland and travels on both coasts, including Las Vegas, where Heather wished she’d bet against UVA basketball, and 12 days in sunny California.

December brought our wedding weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia, where we spent 4 wonderful days with loved ones. We held our marriage ceremony in the Blue Ridge Mountains on a perfect 60-degree winter day and celebrated afterward with an intimate dinner party. The year wrapped up with our honeymoon in lively and colorful Colombia, South America.

We’re looking forward to our first year as husband and wife and many more adventures on the horizon. Warmest wishes to each of you throughout the holiday season and here’s to an amazing year ahead!

With love, Heather and Adam Shapiro

ALWAYS ORDER MORE THAN YOU THINK YOU NEED

I learned this year to always, always order more cards than you think you need! We ended up with a list twice as long as the original 50 we ordered and had to place a second order right before New Year’s. So, make your list, check it twice, and then order a whole bunch more.

Thank you to Artifact Uprising for giving me a credit for these holiday cards! As always, I only write about brands that I think are wonderful!
