Magnolia in the Kitchen: Neiman Marcus Dip

Y’all have probably seen me mention my friend Steph on Insta Stories many times before. She’s a friend of mine from Junior League who launched her blog, Magnolia Stripes, last year. If you’re into entertaining, hostessing, and traditional style with a colorful, fun twist, she’s your girl.

Seriously, if you need inspiration for any occasion, you need to follow her. Steph can pull together an amazing tablescape for anything from a holiday brunch to a book club tea party. Don’t even get me started on how incredible and creative her New Year’s Eve spread was this year!

MAGNOLIA IN THE KITCHEN: NEIMAN MARCUS DIP

This year, she’s started a new segment that she’s calling Magnolia in the Kitchen. She invites friends – some bloggers, some not – to cook one of their favorite recipes with her…on video. I was so thrilled when she invited me to join her in shooting a recipe, and I knew right away the route I would go: DIPS. Specifically, the ultimate crowd pleaser, a sweet and savory dip known as Neiman Marcus Dip. I mean, who doesn’t love a dip, especially if it’s half mayonnaise?! Plus, I figured it’s an easy, foolproof recipe to cook on camera.

FILMING THE VIDEO

Well, when it came to filming the video…it wasn’t quite as easy as I thought. We did a fabulous run through on the first try (beginner’s luck!) and then it took us about, oh, maybe 15 more takes?! Thankfully, we kept fumbling before we’d actually put the ingredients together! But, bottom line is, WE DID IT. And you can find the full video, the recipe, the special occasion that I first made this dip for, and the quirky history behind it all over on Magnolia Stripes.

I love that you’re a member of the Junior League! Growing up, I watched how much my mom enjoyed being a part of and serving as the President of the Junior League in my hometown. After I graduate college in May and move to DC, I’m hoping to get involved with the JL there!

Oh, you’ll love it!!! I took a leave of absence the past two years (mostly because I moved to the other side of town and got rid of my car, so it made it a little unrealistic to get to the house), but I’m going to have to rejoin because I miss it! It’s how I made some of my closest friends in DC across several friend groups.

You guys are the cutest!!! As a Dallasite, I’m a sucker for some of the original NM recipes (hello, cookies + bone broth) and cannot wait to try this! Also you guys are camera naturals 🙂
