Our Home Tour on The Everygirl and Some Big News!

Y’all! I have 2 huge things—both home related—to celebrate this week! As I’ve shared on here before, our apartment has been featured on both Houzz (shot just 1 month after we moved in!) and Washingtonian, but there was one outlet that I was dying to be featured on—and it finally happened!

(Well, actually there’s one other website I really want to be featured on…so, if anyone has an Apartment Therapy connection, help a girl out!)

OUR HOME TOUR ON THE EVERYGIRL

Our home tour on The Everygirl went live last week! I did the interview with them a couple of months ago, so I’ve been anxiously awaiting the go-live date. Since I started my career in interior design before transitioning to marketing and writing, I still love sharing design with others—that’s why it’s so exciting every time our place is featured!

The awesome thing about The Everygirl is the deep dive that goes into their home tour interviews. We get into what I love about Washington, why we chose the H Street neighborhood, career advice, decorating advice, and more. You’ll definitely want to check it out!

and…the BIG news: WE BOUGHT A CONDO ON CAPITOL HILL!

Yes! After 2 solid years of looking at homes, we finally pulled the trigger and bought a place! Well, almost bought, we close today—fingers crossed. I’ll definitely do some deep dives into the buying process and how we came to this particular condo, but the short story is we’d looked at rowhouses and condos all over DC, though mostly focused on the east side of the city. Adam wanted space and 2 bathrooms, I wanted walkability and a sense of security (I prefer a busier area to quiet streets!). We both wanted a place with character.

I’m sure we drove our realtor crazy in the process (sorry, John!), but after so many false starts, maybe putting an offer, then deciding not to, we finally realized we weren’t going to beat this one—at least within our budget. We’re moving into an 1880 rowhouse that was divided into apartments years ago and then renovated into condos last fall. The location is perfect, just 2 blocks from both Eastern Market and Barracks Row on Capitol Hill. I’m psyched for closet space (a rare find in an old home!), an extra bathroom, and an adorable little outdoor space.

We move in TOMORROW, so make sure you’re following along with me on Instagram!
