Ever find yourself on a weekend afternoon wondering, “Can I make a cocktail with leftover coffee?” No? Just me? Well, regardless, this is where I find myself on many a Saturday afternoon.
Mixing Up a Cocktail with Leftover Coffee
Over the past few months, as we’ve worked on our cocktail skills, we’ve tried multiple coffee cocktails when we’ve found ourselves with extra coffee late in the afternoon. Full disclosure, that’s probably because we made a second batch, not that we didn’t drink the first.
From a Coffee Dark and Stormy to a Coffee White Russian, we’ve had hits and misses — and, yes, the Coffee Dark and Stormy was a dark horse winner. So, today’s cocktail falls in the hit category. This Bourbon Coffee Cocktail is a refreshing afternoon drink that’s perfect for an afternoon spent reading outside or relaxing on the patio.

Bourbon Coffee Cocktail
You can alter the ratio of the ingredients depending on whether you want a coffee-forward or cream-forward cocktail. Think of this as an Irish coffee on ice.
2 oz. bourbon
2 oz. milk
2 oz. cold coffee
1 oz. triple sec
Drizzle of agave nectar
Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake it up. Pour. Cheers!
