I was so delighted when Sarah Flint reached out to me to try out a pair of her shoes. I’ve long admired her timeless styling and absolutely gorgeous silhouettes in beautiful leather, and a pair of her shoes had been on my wish list. I chose the Perfect Block Sandal 30, which have a low everyday heel, and I’m in love. They seriously live up to the hype.
About Sarah Flint
First, here’s a little bit about the brand. Sarah Flint founded her namesake shoe line back in 2012 and, ever since, has been perfecting luxurious, comfortable shoes that women can actually wear. She set out to create shoes that would rival the most high-end designers, but that wouldn’t ruin your feet by the end of the. Because, seriously, what good is a pair of shoes if you can’t wear them?
She works with artisan shoemakers in Italy, using only the highest quality materials, and sells direct to consumer through her website to avoid the super steep markup you see in department stores. Yes, her shoes are an investment. But, they’re significantly less than what you’ll find from similar luxury brands. Plus, these shoes harken back to the days when people actually kept their shoes, cared for them, and resoled them every several years. It’s time to throw out the fast fashion and, instead, own a few quality pairs of beautiful shoes that you’ll wear for seasons and years to come.
Sarah Flint Perfect Block Sandal Review
So, why did I decide to review the Sarah Flint Perfect Block Sandal, when Sarah Flint has so many stunning shoes to choose from? Trust me, I was tempted by the Natalie and the Perfect Emma.
I wanted a pair of shoes that I would wear all summer long. Something that was a bit more dressed up than my normal sandals, but not quite fancy enough that I’d wear them to an evening wedding. A pair of shoes that I could throw on with an easy sundress, pants, or even shorts, but that could dress up for date night. I contemplated the Perfect Block Sandal 60, but ultimately decided the low heel was what I needed in my wardrobe.
The official description of these shoes says: 30mm (1in) block sandal with expanded toe box, anatomical arch support, 6mm of extra footbed padding, inset block heel, handcrafted in Italy.
How do they fit?
I wear between a 7 and a 7.5 and I opted for a (37.5) 7.5. They fit perfectly.
Are they comfortable?
The first thing I noticed when I slid my foot in was, yes, there is 100% extra padding here. I first wore them out to dinner where walking was minimal but have since worn them to walk all over the neighborhood. Between the padding and the comfortable 1″ heel, these are as easy to walk around in as any sandal or sneaker.
How do they wear?
I’ve only had them for a bit over a week, but so far, so good. As I mentioned, I’ve walked all over the neighborhood in them and they look as good as new. Sometimes leather sandals can scuff at the slightest touch, but these are incredible quality. Updated: I practically wear these as sneakers (I mean…literally, I do!). I wore them all over Europe, walking over 20,000 steps a day. They are the most comfortable shoes I own!
What can you wear them with?
The Perfect Block Sandal is the ultimate everyday sandal. Here, I wore them with a lovely day dress, but I’ve also worn them with jeans and skirts. The 1″ heel is just high enough to look elevated over a flat sandal, however, it doesn’t look silly if you throw them on with a casual outfit. This is the type of sandal that you could take with you on a trip as your one pair of shoes and it would go with everything.
Would I recommend the Sarah Flint Perfect Block Sandal?
Absolutely. This is a beautifully made, versatile, supportive sandal which is both pretty and practical. You’ll see me in these all summer long (seriously…start counting the Instagram appearances now).
