This golden milk recipe has taken me more than a few years to perfect. The idea of it always appealed to me. I love creamy, warm drinks (as we all know well from my coffee recipes), but I couldn’t seem to get it right. It was always too savory, too sweet, or too grainy.
I was inspired to give it another shot after one of my favorite pastoral Instagram accounts*, Arcadian Revival, posted her own recipe on Insta stories. I’m not sure what was different this time around, maybe it was her recipe or maybe it was that I finally have a whisk to break up the spices. Whatever it is, I’ve finally nailed it.
*Yes, pastoral Instagram is a thing, or at least that’s what I call it. I follow a bunch of Hudson Valley/Saratoga Springs, NY accounts where life seems so dreamy and back to basics (in a very beautifully curated way).
An Easy Golden Milk Recipe
This recipe takes just a few minutes, which makes it the perfect afternoon break. I usually make it around 3:30 PM, right when I’m looking for an excuse to get up from my computer, and it’s a warm, soothing treat that I look forward to all day long.
Also, I’m always asked about these mugs. They’re the CB2 Dip Black and White Coffee Mug and are an awesome deal at just $5.95. They come in a tall version, but I love this shorter style for lattes.
