My 2022 Travel Recap: Spain, France, and the Usual Haunts

I actually didn’t plan on writing this post but after I did an AMA on my Instagram this past weekend and saw that over half of the questions were some form of, “Where are you traveling in 2023?”, I figured it might be a good idea to keep travel front and center.

So let’s look at where I went over the past 12 months with one caveat. We spent every chance we got — basically any time it was open — at the cottage, which meant most of our travel involved driving down 301 to the river. But that doesn’t mean we stayed close to home all year long…

The Full (Maybe?) List of Where I Traveled in 2022

Similar to last year, I may have missed a trip or two, but this is what I remember and what I can recall from Instagram and my photo albums. And, similar to last year, it feels a little underwhelming, but, again, there was one big and amazing trip. We’ll get more of those smaller but more frequent amazing trips this year.

I’m still working on my France and Spain travel guides (one is already outlined on the blog, the other ones have photos edited and curated, which is always the biggest lift — I swear they’re happening!). But I did get a handful of travel guides and travel posts on the blog this year.

What’s On the Horizon for 2023

I’m headed to Fort Lauderdale, FL for a girls’ trip with my college friends in two weeks (we’re bringing back our 2020 trip!), then it’s the annual excursion to my brother-in-law’s ranch in Vowinckel, PA in February. We’re tentatively going to New Orleans in March (if flight prices drop…), then Israel in May (yes, rescheduled for the 3rd time), and then it’s all TBD. Like I mentioned, I’d love to get more short trips on the docket this year — a New England jaunt or two, perhaps Montreal, and definitely somewhere in Mexico, like San Migeul de Allende.
