This June is already off to a strong start. I shared last week that the past few weeks (few months?!) have felt like a bit of a blur and I’m intentionally trying to slow down, get into a routine, and savor each moment a bit more (there’s probably a reason savor has been my word of the year before). There’s no better time than summer to take it easy, right?
My June To Do List
Over the past few days, I’ve already embraced the slower season. We’ve been at the cottage this week, perhaps not for exciting reasons — we had to replace a toilet, do yard work — but I’ve made an effort to also enjoy it. On Sunday, we went to the art fair and ate on the water at one of our favorite restaurants. Monday, we sat by the water in the evening as the sun set. Tuesday, I spent a couple of hours on the garden after a day of work, but, by 7:30, we had put on our bathing suits and grabbed drinks to have by the pool. I’m trying to make every day feel like a vacation, even if it’s only for an hour or two. And logging off while it’s still light out — that’s been a huge game changer.
I’m looking forward to fresh summer meals, lazy weekends, farmers market trips, and maybe a road trip or two this month…
