Frank & Eileen Carmel Travel Set Review
Consider me a convert to sets. After trying on the Frank & Eileen Carmel Travel Set, I’m all in on ready-made outfits, where I don’t have to think about what I’m wearing.
The Carmel Set consists of two of Frank & Eileen’s pieces. The first is the Patrick Sweatshirt, which has a hand-cut raw hem and collared v-neckline. They described the fit of this popover as slightly cropped, which I wold not agree with unless perhaps you’re incredibly tall, but it’s a comfortable, casual fit. I could see wearing this separately with jeans or even white jeans if you want to dress it up a bit.
The next is the Catherine Sweatpant, which also has a hand-cut raw hem. These have a slightly cropped fit, right above my ankle at 5’5″. There’s a drawstring waistband and no pockets, which is ideal for a smooth fit. They have a loose leg but don’t feel frumpy at all.
Together, the two pieces are so chic — literally. It’s the type of set you pull on and people ask, “Where did you get that?!” They’re not just sweatpants. They’re so elevated. I’ve probably worn this set 10 times over the past month and I wore it 5 times during my 8 days in Colorado, including my two travel days. It’s now a must-pack on any trip.

Frank & Eileen Carmel Travel Set FAQ
How does it fit?
I ordered a Small in the Frank & Eileen Carmel Travel Set, which fit perfectly. It’s a little bit loose, which makes it perfect for lounging around the house or traveling, but, because of the v-neckline, it doesn’t feel dowdy at all.
What is the fabric?
The Carmel Travel Set is 100% cotton triple fleece, made in California. That means it’s a thick cotton knit that’s super soft and comfortable. It’s not see through at all, which is a huge plus since I got in white.
How does it wear?
I’ve worn this set around the house, during long travel days, and even out and about. It wears beautifully. When I wore it to and from Colorado, it looks as good at the beginning of my travel day as it did many hours later after three airports and two flights.
It also washes incredibly well. The white still looks vibrant (I wash it with other whites/lights). I wash on delicate, inside out, then hang to dry, though they say you can tumble dry low.
How should you wear it?
It looks great on its own, like I wore it here. Just barefoot and hanging out at home. For travel, I paired it with a big cashmere wrap, a jean jacket, and cowboy boots. I wore it out and about in Colorado with a lightweight scarf and sandals.
Final verdict: It’s absolutely a splurge, but I’ve worn it countless times. If it’s in budget, go for it.
