Buying block print dresses from Etsy is my spring through fall style hack. You’ll rarely pay more than $60, and these lightweight cotton dresses can be dressed up or down. I wear them around the house as a comfortable but more pulled together alternative to athleisure, but I also wear them out with earrings and heels. They’re so incredibly versatile and, depending on the color, they transition beautifully between seasons. I’ll wear them with flip flops and, then, if they’re in a more fall colorway, I’ll wear them with tights, booties, and a sweater as a chill begins to set in.
I often buy these dresses from Eastern Market here in DC, but finding out that similar styles on Etsy has opened up a whole new world of patterns — and it gives me somewhere to send friends who don’t live in DC.

This particular dress I’m wearing below is still available on Etsy, even though I bought it a few years ago now. It’s a slightly more dressed up version than the others on here, but I love it for anytime I need to dress up for daytime. The collar, buttons, belt, and shades of blue are so good. But all of the other dresses I’ve linked below are perfect for day-to-day where. They’re essentially house dresses, yet you’ll look so incredibly chic. It’s like the modern day mumu — in a good way.
Don’t overthink wearing them. Just find a print and color you love, then wear it anytime you’d usually resort to leggings and a t-shirt around the house. Instead, pull on one of these, and you’ll instantly feel better. Plus, you’ll quickly realize that wearing a glorified nightgown is so much more comfortable than wearing spandex day in and day out.
