Peek Inside My Routine: Sephora Skincare and Beauty Picks

During the Sephora sale a few weeks ago, I shared a few of my skincare and beauty picks. A few readers reached out after the fact asking if I’d share the list again, so I tried my hand at making a shop on ShopMy. I’m not someone who has a packed makeup bag or tries every skincare item on the market, but I do like to experiment and see what works. I gravitate towards clean products, and, while I also love an affordable Whole Foods find, there are a few Sephora items that I buy and re-buy.

Sephora Skincare and Beauty Picks

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5: The Ordinary is known for its astonishingly inexpensive skincare, which, admittedly, makes me a little apprehensive. But I do love their minimalist branding, and, a few years ago, I figured it was worth trying their hyaluronic acid. It’s a basic product, and I don’t think it needs to be pricey to work. Sure enough, I was more than happy with this item, and it’s become a staple in my skincare routine.

7 Virtues Santal Vanille Eau de Parfum: I’ve written before about how I love to buy a new fragrance before a trip — or on a trip — so that every time I spritz that perfume, I’m transported back to those memories. This was the perfume I used on my trip through the South of France and Spain. It’s a warm, earthy vanilla that’s perfect for cooler weather, and it’s one I’ve purchased again after going through my first bottle.

Tower 28 ShineOn Jelly Lip Gloss: I’ve never been a lipstick girl and likely never will be, but I love a lip gloss. This is the prettiest, super glossy lip gloss that has a clean formula and gorgeous colors. XOXO is a vibrant pink that’s just saturated enough that you can use it year round.

Saie Glowy Super Gel: I don’t use this every day, but it’s a lovely little dose of shimmer anytime I’m headed somewhere where I want to look a bit more done up. It adds just a bit of highlight, and I apply it after my sunscreen, pressing it in all over my face.

Saie Hydrating Lip Gloss Oil: Another lip gloss favorite of mine, this one feels like it sink rights into your lips, in a good way. I have the bright pink color, and it’s the nicest no makeup-makeup look.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser: Some people will tell you that you shouldn’t buy non-drugstore cleansers because you’re literally washing it down the drain, but I have been a devotee of this Fresh cleanser for years. It leaves my skin feeling, well, fresh, and it takes forever for me to get through a tube of it. It’s not harsh, and just feels like a nice way to wash off the day.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: Another product I’ve used for years, in fact, probably well over a decade. This little pot of lip balm is my go-to for hydrating my lips as I get into bed. I have one on my bedside table at all times, and I’m partial to the vanilla.

Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream: I didn’t know much about ceramides until recently (maybe I still don’t), but I do know they help in protecting your skin’s barrier and keeping in moisture. Both of those sound great to me. I had a sample of this cream, and it was an immediate full-size buy after I saw how hydrated it kept my skin.

Caudalie Resveratrol Lift Instant Firming Serum: This seems to be the retin-A alternative on the market, so I obviously picked it up as soon as I found out it was pregnant. I don’t know if it was the hormones or this serum, but my skin has looked fabulous since I started using it, so I’ll keep on keeping on — at least until I can start back up with retin-A.

Ole Henriksen Banana Bright+ Vitamin C Eye Crème: Another product I’ve used for years, I love this eye cream. It has a nice consistency, and anything with vitamin C seems to react well with my skin. It’s hydrating and brightening, and, for a Sephora eye cream, it’s a good price point.

Merit Great Skin: Merit came out hot and fast as a brand a few years ago, which may have made people doubt them (they worked with a lot of influencers, though I never did get a coveted gifted item). However, I tried the Great Skin serum, and I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s a hydrating everyday serum that I’ll even pat on throughout the day when I need a little additional glow.

Merit Day Glow Hydrating Balm: This is the other Merit product I now swear by. I do a little swipe under my eyebrows, across my cheeks, and in my cupid’s bow. It’s an everyday little upgrade to my routine, and I love that it’s dewy and hydrating. I get the cava color.

Biossance Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping and Hydrating Serum: This is my other go-to serum. It’s seriously plumping, as the name would imply. While I’ll use the Merit serum as a standard, everyday serum for a more hydrated look, this one feels like it means more serious business.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream: Lastly, this is one that both Adam and I use (him more than me). It’s a great everyday moisturizer that comes in a huge tub.
