Hi, I’m Heather Bien, a lifestyle content creator, writer, and designer. I’m also an H Street resident in Washington, DC with a love for good style, good food, frequent travel, and the occasional leopard print.

You can find me here on heatherbien.com writing about all matters of lifestyle — style, travel, homebeauty, and now wedding. Among my favorite things, and those you’ll see on here on a regular basis, are bright colors, local DC makers, crossing off to-do lists, easy weekend getaways, and mid-century design.

And here’s a shameless plug to check out my apartment tour over on Houzz.

Originally from the now super hip city of Richmond, Virginia, I grew up wanting to be a writer or an interior designer – and, now, I suppose a do a little bit of both. I ventured up the road to Charlottesville, Virginia to attend the University of Virginia (go hoos!) and study Art History and Architectural History. After college I worked at small interior design firms in both Charlottesville and Washington, DC. To be honest, I fought the DC move for a long time because I felt that everyone from UVa ended up there, but now, I’ve outlasted most of my original friends here and found an amazing, inspiring creative community in the District.

Along the way, I started blogging and switched careers to a path that led me to my current role working as a Digital Content Director for a creative agency where most of my work is focused on hospitality/hotel clients. No guarantee on whether I’m staying in DC for life or not — I am marrying a Texan after all — but I’m happy to have landed here…even if we don’t have representation in the Senate.
