Taking Care of Your Skin: May Favorites

So, full disclosure: as a blogger, I do get a fair amount of free products. Some make it to the blog, and some don’t. But, most of the time, when a product is worth sharing, it’s something that makes its way into my ongoing daily routine. That being said, all but one of the products in this post was originally gifted, but I have bought or will buy them all with my own money.

THESE ARE THE PRODUCTS I’M BUYING AGAIN

I’m going to discuss five products today: Pixi Hydrating Milky Mist, OleHenrickson C-Rush Brightening Crème, RoC Retinol Correxion Deep Wrinkle Anti-Aging Night Cream (that’s a mouthful), Dr. Brandt Needles No More Eye De-Puffing Gel, and Neutrogena Masks

I first tried the Pixi Milky Mist when I got it at TBSCon a few years ago. Now, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve repurchased it. The OleHenrickson Crème is a new acquisition but I’m obsessed – and it smells like a dreamsicle. The RoC Night Cream is something I’ve gone back to over and over again for probably almost a decade. I’m always on the lookout for great masks and the Neutrogena masks have joined the ranks of my favorites. And, I can’t leave out the Needles No More Gel. It’s a must have for anyone who occasionally has late nights.

IT’S ALL ABOUT HYDRATION

So, we know my number one rule of skin care is HYDRATION. Seriously, without hydration, you might as well forget anything else. Several of these products fit the bill in keeping your skin as supple and moisturized as possible.

Start off a couple mornings a week with one of these Neutrogena Masks – I love the Hydro Boost, which makes sense because I love the entire Hydro Boost line. With the Hydro Boost mask, you get 30 minutes of relaxing, cooling, and soothing me time, plus your skin looks and feels hydrated when you pull away the gel mask.

Whenever I need a little pick me up during the day, or before I go from work to evening, I love to spritz Pixi Milky Mist on my face before refreshing my makeup. It gives me just enough dewiness to feel like I’m starting the day over.

My days begin and end with OleHenrickson’s Gel Crème. I can’t get enough of this. I put it on in the mornings before my sunscreen, sometimes in the afternoon when I’m feeling a little dull, and then I’ll often put it on at night after my post-barre shower. It smells so divine, and it leaves my skin feeling so smooth and hydrated. I can’t get enough.

AND A LITTLE BIT OF ANTI-AGING, TOO

Of course, we can’t leave out anti-aging. These are the most important tools in our skincare arsenal, right? Most of us probably know that Retin-A is the ingredient that is most effective in keeping our skin young – there’s some cell turnover science going on there. But, Retin-A can be too aggressive for many people’s skin and can end up causing more dryness and flakiness than anything else.

That’s where retinol steps in. You don’t need a prescription, and this RoC Night Cream is one of my all time favorites. I never have any drying with it, and I use it every single evening before bed. A little goes a long way and this tube will last you a deceivingly long time.

The last product I have for you today is Dr. Brandt’s Eye De-Puffing Gel. While I think calling it a gel is a little misleading – it has more of a paste-like texture – this stuff works. I don’t use it every day, but on days when I’m feeling like my eyes are showing less than 8 hours sleep, you know I’m putting this on before my makeup.
