While I love trying out new restaurants and soaking in the trendy atmosphere, sometimes a girls’ night in is just the answer for a low key evening full of conversation and catching up.
All you really need is good wine and good friends, and creating a bit of ambiance never hurt. A fun table cloth, a whimsical cheese board and cheese knife, bright napkins, and a lucite tray to pull it all together are perfect for an easy girls’ night in.
Especially during the summer, I’m looking for a night where there is no cooking or preparation required. Just wine, cheese, meat, and crackers. I’m a white wine and bubbly kind of girl, so I always have bottles of Prosecco and Pinot Grigio on hand, ready for an impromptu Sunday girls’ night in full of debriefing on the weekend. I loved trying these two wines from Caposaldo Wine – the Pinot Grigio was dry and refreshing, perfect for summer, and the Prosecco was bubbly, bright, with just a hint of citrus.
If you’re wondering, I’m wearing a madras button down similar to this one tied over this gorgeous white dress. This dress is seriously my favorite buy of the summer, it’s perfect for wearing out to dinner with a long necklace, wearing to work with a cardigan, or tying a button down over casually like I did here. The length and fit of the skirt are perfectly retro without feeling stuffy. The nail polish is my go to neutral this summer – Essie’s Hubby for Dessert.
