Naked2 Basics

Last year I blogged about my love of the Naked Basics palette from Urban Decay. The matte neutrals are perfect for everyday wear, but the range is enough that you can create a smoky eye for an evening out as well. 

However, I really love a dark, smokey eye, so I finally decided to pick up the Naked2 Basics palette to allow for a little more depth with darker neutrals. After a weekend of playing around with the shades of brown, I’m totally convinced it’s worth having both palettes for a more diverse range of looks. Yes, the larger Naked palettes have more colors in one place, but these matte shadows are what resonate best with my look. It’s subtle drama, but drama nonetheless. For a smokey evening eye, I’ll use Primal in the crease, Frisk over the entire eyelid, Cover to blend the two together, Undone to line the outer third of my top and bottom lids, and Skimp for a bit of highlight in the inner third of my eyelid.

A day look can also be achieved with this palette by using Frisk to subtly define the outer crease, Skimp over the entire lid, and Stark to blend the two shades gradually.

Next up on my Naked palette investment list is the rose golds of Naked3. I’m thinking with the two Naked Basics and the Naked3, I could easily get rid of all my other eye shadow palettes and just streamline my collection to these three.
