You may recall when I ventured out to Maryland to go apple picking last month. I went mostly for the experience, to say “yup, I went apple picking once”, but I also arrived home with a half peck of apples that I was determined to put to good use somehow.
Since I don’t love raw apples, but I can’t get enough of baked apples, and I don’t particularly like to bake, I took to the crockpot to make a delicious and easy fall baked apple dessert. Crockpot Apple Crumble will be your new go to dessert, especially when you have to feed a group something sweet with minimal effort.
Crockpot Apple Crumble
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
5 large apples, cut into chunks
2/3 cup oats
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3-4 tablespoons butter, chopped
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix brown sugar and granulated sugar in bottom layer of crockpot. Next, layer apples on top of sugars. Combine cinnamon, oats, brown sugar, flour and butter in a mixing bowl. Sprinkle over apples. Cook for 4 hours on low in crockpot. Turn off heat and let stand for one hour to thicken. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
What are some of your favorite uses for an over abundance of apples? Are there any other easy fall recipes out there I should know about?
Just pinned this baby for later! Can't wait to try this, and these photos are gorgeous. Glad I found your blog!xoMacKensiewww.onetonothin.com
