I mentioned in a post recently that Trunk Club has expanded to include trunks for women. I’ve always loved the aesthetic of the brands that Trunk Club works with and the personal relationships between stylists and their clients, so I was thrilled to try to out my first trunk this week.
STYLE AT HOME: TRUNK CLUB FOR WOMEN
For those who haven’t heard of Trunk Club before, it’s a service where you work directly with a personal stylist to select a trunk of items tailored to your preferences. You fill out a style profile with measurements, sizes, styles that you wear, styles that you avoid, and what you’re looking to build within your wardrobe. Don’t wear silver? Never touch a crewneck? Want to try a full skirt or flare leg jeans? You can include preferences as particular as these in your style profile so that you stylist can find items that will best suit you.
Once your (beautifully packaged) trunk has arrived at your home, you have 10 days to decide which items are perfect for you and which are going back with a pre-paid label. You don’t pay for the stylist service or any shipping—you only pay for the items that you keep.
A VARIETY OF ITEMS AND PRICE POINTS
My trunk included a wide range of items and price points: a DvF blouse, casual but feminine graphic cotton tee, a cozy Barbour fisherman sweater, a seasonless hot pink Kate Spade dress, an ivory blazer, a figure flattering Tahari wool shift, a pretty but comfortable navy and black silk dress, a pair of Madewell flare leg jeans, a form fitting black turtleneck, and a gorgeous winter floral skirt that would be perfect for Thanksgiving dinner. The trunk was rounded out with a statement purse that complemented almost every item included and a pair of classic black d’orsay pumps with a stunning snakeskin detail.
Perhaps most helpful, my stylist, Caitlin, included an email with an array of outfit combinations using the items in the trunk. Below you can check out some of the looks she pulled together.
TRYING OUT TRUNK CLUB
If you’re interested in checking out Trunk Club, click here to work with my stylist and friend, Caitlin. She has great taste and will pull together a trunk that not only fits with your personal style, but also encourage you to try out some new pieces. I would never have picked up a winter floral or flare leg jeans, but the floral skirt ended up being my favorite piece!
It’s definitely worth giving Trunk Club a try, especially if you’re someone who can rarely find time to shop or loves working with someone who has a great eye for style and a sense for creating a cohesive and flattering wardrobe.
