First, a disclaimer: my bedroom is nearly impossible to photograph. It gets little to no natural light—this was actually a selling point for me originally, I wanted a dark bedroom and a bright living area—but it makes it so difficult to photograph. So while I’ll just have to keep waiting for that perfect day where it’s so sunny (and it’s a weekend) that I can get a decent photo, I’ll just have to go with these to show you the final result of my gallery wall with Minted.
In my previous post, I discussed how the wall above the desk in my bedroom has needed some color and visual interest, so a gallery wall was the perfect solution. I picked images that were all shades of blue since my bedroom is entirely shades of turquoise and navy, and I wanted to stay with the water theme that runs throughout my bedding, area rug, and accent pillows.
It’s kind of hilarious that the girl in the center photograph happens to look like me. I’ve been asked several times if it is, and, nope, just another fair skinned, auburn haired girl diving in a pool. I’ve also seen this photograph from Minted featured on several different blogs now including Sequins and Stripes and Julia Ryan (I love the frame she picked!). Guess I’m not the only one who doesn’t mind having a random woman on my wall!
Also, I said in my first post that I would discuss how to go about hanging a gallery wall the proper way, but I’ll be honest, I just decided one evening around 8 PM that I wanted it to go up that day (I’m the kind of person that likes to get things done NOW) and so I went for it. By eyeballing it. It worked out, but generally, I would recommend marking the spots where you want to hang the images with painter’s tape to get an idea of whether or not the arrangement works, and then carefully measuring before nailing into the wall. Do as I say, not as I do.
You can shop the images from my gallery wall using the links below, but also check out Minted for tons of holiday gift ideas. I’ve gotten gorgeous notecards, journals, address books, and more from Minted and everything can be personalized.
Thank you to Minted for sending me these gorgeous prints!
