Working Out on the Go with ROAM Fitness

I’m the kind of person who feels terribly guilty if I don’t get my daily workout in, and it gets even worse when I’m traveling and over indulging at every opportunity. And if that traveling involves a flight, I’ll skip my workout to make sure I get to the airport on time only to find I have an extra hour to do nothing but sit and scroll through Instagram at the gate.

WHAT IS ROAM FITNESS?

When I heard about ROAM Fitness, a new boutique fitness studio that opened its first location at BWI airport this spring, I was eager to try it out! I had a flight out of BWI this past weekend, and while I normally would have done my usual rush through the morning, no workout, end up at the airport early with nothing to do routine, this time I was able to squeeze a workout in before my flight thanks to ROAM Fitness.

THE SPACE

The gym is located right past security next to gate D1 and is a gorgeous, bright, white space. It’s a small studio but has everything you could need. I did 30 minutes of cardio followed by 15 minutes of weights and felt like it was the perfect way to start off a long day of travel. After my workout, I got ready for the day in the spa-like showers. You can’t beat a refreshing rain shower with Malin+Goetz products. Seriously, I’d take this over getting ready in my own apartment! Also, I loved that the departure schedule was located right in the workout studio — so helpful when trying to stay on time.

THE OUTFIT

On a side note: I’ve had this striped workout top on repeat all summer and you can find it on sale right now at J.Crew. My workout pants are these cutout capris from Athleta.

HOW DO YOU USE ROAM FITNESS?

Interested in using ROAM Fitness on your next trip out of BWI? You can buy day, month, or year passes. If you travel a lot, the year pass would be totally worth it, especially as ROAM Fitness looks to expand in 2017 and beyond.
